What do we wear?!

Here are a few guidelines I have put together so you guys can be sure to look smokin while focusing on your love and not what you are wearing. Ultimately you want to look like yourselves, feel comfortable, be able to move around and have a great time!

Options

Most people rock 3 looks and bring any where from 3 or 4 pairs of bottoms and 4 or 5 tops each. They also bring dresses, accessories, jackets and hats. All you have to do is make sure you bring options that you feel like a million bucks in! Depending on the sessions location, you will more than likely have to change in your car. If you are not comfortable with that, no worries! We can pick your one outfit out ahead of time and show up to the session location in that!

pro tip:

You don't have to spend a million bucks to feel and look like it. Do you have a favorite pair a worn out jeans, a sweater you have broken in over the years or a favorite band t-shirt? Perfect! Bring it along and I can guarantee you’ll be rocking a natural smile worth more than a million buckaroos.

Colors

Stick with neutrals and earthy tones. Grey, tan, brown, mustard yellow, forest green, navy blue, burnt orange, etc. Try to stay away from bright fluorescent distracting colors such as; pink, bright orange, and red. If you are really wanting a pop of color just check with me!

Pro Tip:

Bring hats, sunglasses, scarves, jewelry, etc because it’s nice to pair them with different outfit options. Just avoid wearing watches so they don’t distract from your faces when I’m getting close up shots!

Patterns

Avoid large and loud patterns and stick with small and subtle ones. A flannel here and there is fine, but if you are going to rock a bold pattern make sure your partner isn’t wearing one too. Too much pattern will distract from your lovely faces. Try to think of how your outfits complement each other and you in turn will receive compliments on your oh so stylish pics.

Pro tip:

A lot of my couples will go shopping for “nicer” looking clothes which is totally fine, but sometimes they regret not wearing what they feel themselves in. Always pack a casual comfy option we can explore in!

Climate

If we are headed to a beach, don't wear heels. If we are hiking to a beautiful lookout, wear something that supports your ankles. If its freezing out, wear warm wool socks and layers. If it’s going to be hot, bring clothes that can breathe more so you don’t have sweaty pit stains in the photos. Be as comfortable as you can be!

Props

Props don’t have to be cheesy!(I’m talking to you - Pinterest - Hobby Lobby signs and chalkboards. Just don’t do it.) Props could be a pizza picnic, a motorcycle, your cat or dog, blankets, a truck/car, a campfire, a bouquet, a paddle board, etc. If you have props you would like incorporate, let me know and we can make sure to incorporate them in a non-cheesy way!
